New Year, New Toy!

I’m putting a few finishing touches on some last minute 2009 FOs so I can do a proper “Look at all the stuff I made this year!” post. Really, though, by the time I post it, the title will need to be “Look at all the stuff I made LAST year,” but that’s a small quibble.

I had planned to get more crafty fun done this week, but I was distracted by a new toy: a new (to me) used refurbished Apple MacBook! My previous clamshell iBook had been dying a slow, sad death, and it was time for an upgrade. A few months of saving and a surprise mini-windfall put me over the top, and I got a great deal on a used computer! It’s actually better than my current desktop, and I think I’ll be transferring most of my files from the PC to the Mac in the coming weeks. I totally love it.

Plus, it has Photobooth, which means I can take pictures of myself and see what I look like while surfing the web! OK, I actually do take a minute to hand-comb my hair and smile pretty for the camera, but it’s still pretty cool.

New haircut! Yay!

And with that, I’m going to sign off and finish sewing a couple of buttons onto one sweater, and finishing the hem on a hat before the New Year’s activities begin. Which in our case, includes sitting on the couch, watching a Torchwood DVDs. Woo-hoo!
