It’s a Sleeve, I Promise

I managed to whip through the first of the two sleeves required for my short sleeve sweater. (As you recall, it’s the “Hey Teach!” pattern from knitty.com).

I’m not sure if it’s the larger needles, or that I’m just really comfortable with the lace pattern, but the first sleeve just flew off of the needles. Here it is, finished:

Sleeve #1 Completed - Hey Teach

I’ve never knit anything with a sleeve cap before, so this is a whole new experience for me. But I think it will eventually fit into the sweater without any problems.

I was so impressed with my quick knitting that I held it up to show Mr. Martini. He was confused, and for good reason. Does this shape remind you of anything? Here’s a hint:

I assured him that it was, in fact, a sleeve, and I was not knitting myself underwear. Hee!

I just have sleeve #2 to knit, and then it’s on to seaming and the knitting up the button band and collar. Getting close!
