Knitting Mojo – Continued
By Susan | March 23, 2009
You know it’s time to write a post when your mom calls and says, “You haven’t updated your site for awhile!” Hee!
I’m making progress on the Hey Teach sweater! As of yesterday morning, I completed the back and both fronts:
I cast on for the first sleeve yesterday afternoon, and finished it in no time. Just one more sleeve to go, I can’t believe it! No picture of the sleeve, because the camera battery was charging. Instead, here’s a shot of me sitting on my patio, after I just cast on the sleeve stitches:

This shot is actually part of a project I joined on Flickr: the Flickr 365 Day Self-Portrait project. This project has been going on for years, and the objective is to take 1 self-portrait every day for a year. For awhile now, I’ve been following and admiring the photos a few folks who have been posting their shots, and am amazed at the talent out there! Some folks are super-artistic photographers who obviously take a lot of time to set up the perfect, most creative shot, while others (no less talented or artistic) are using it as more of a “documentary” type of project to record a year in their lives.
After months of saying, “I wish I could do that!” I finally decided, hey, stop thinking about it and just try it. So I am. I expect to fall more on the side of documentary, as I don’t have much of a background in or an eye for truly creative photography.
I’ve added a new Flickr badge to my sidebar, which will show the last few days of self-portraits. I’m not sure how long I’ll be able to keep this up (some folks have been doing it for YEARS, which astounds me) but as of today, I’m going to try my best to keep this going for the entire year.
So that’s where we are! I’m plugging away at the sweater, and started a new Flickr project. I have a couple of other items on the to do list, but they’re on hold until I get this sweater finished. I’m determined to wear it this spring!

I just want to know how you got the action shot of yourself knitting. Did you hold the camera in your mouth? (Also, sweater looks great! You are zooming right along on it.)
