Bowl for Kids Sake Raffle!
When I moved from Chicago to Louisville, I was determined to get more involved with the community. But with the move, and the new job, I wasn’t able to do as much as quickly as I would have liked.
As it turns out, our parent company participates in the “Bowl for Kids Sake” fundraiser each year, to benefit the local Big Brothers and Big Sisters program. I was thrilled to be able to participate to raise money for such a great cause. Remember the bake sale I made the peanut butter cookies for a few weeks back? It just one of several events we have planned to raise money for this event.
We’ve also set personal goals, and that’s where you all come in. I’m offering a slight incentive for donating via my personal donation page – how about a chance to win some yarn?
That’s right! For each $5 donation, you can receive an entry for a chance to win some fabulous yarn, plus some extra goodies. The larger your donation, the more chance you have to win! (See details below for how to enter.)
I’ll draw TWO winners to receive their choice of the following (one option per winner!):
1 hank of Dream in Color Smooshy in Petal Showers, or
1 hank of Dream in Color Smooshy in Black Parade, or
1 hank of Colinette Jitterbug in Summer Berries, or
2 hanks of Malabrigo Merino Worsted in Verde Adriana (in case you’re not a sock knitter)
Here’s all you have to do:
1. Go to this website and make a donation.
2. Send me an e-mail at almostcrafty (at) gmail (dot) com (remove words and add symbols where appropriate) and let me know how much you donated, along with a contactable e-mail address in case you win. THIS STEP IS IMPORTANT – if you don’t send me an e-mail, I won’t know you’d like to be entered in the contest!
3. Feel good about doing your part to help children expand their horizons.
4. If you feel so good from your first donation that you want to donate even more, don’t forget to send me another e-mail so I can be sure you have the correct number of entries in the raffle.
Phew! I think that’s it! We’ll start this contest today, and continue through the next two weeks, with winners being contacted and announced on/near Friday, January 23rd.
Feel free to spread the word via your blogs/knitting groups/message boards, etc. The more the merrier! I set my personal fundraising goal at $200, because I know how generous the fiber community can be.
What do you say? Want to help out some kids? And maybe get some yarn at the same time? Then click here to make your donation!
Thank you!
