Baby Steps
Today was a lot busier than I had anticipated, errand and cleaning and around-the-house project-wise. But I can say that I’m almost halfway caught up on laundry, and I did a thorough clean-up of all of our office files, which makes it much easier for me to relax tonight. I always relax better when the chores are done.
However, I didn’t have as much time as I hoped today to start a new project of a non-yarn nature. I have a few things planned, but since I’m such a newbie, I think these projects are going to take a lot more attention than I could give them today. So instead, I decided to pick up a crochet hook and try to make a hat.
I’m trying a super-simple pattern from Debbie Stollers Happy Hooker crochet book. And it is a simple pattern, and yet in the three rows you see above, I’ve already miscounted stitches, and will have to take the whole thing out and start again tonight.
But that’s OK. I have plenty of yarn, there’s good TV on tonight (Amazing Race) and crocheting goes much faster than knitting, so I think I can catch up in no time. Back to it!
NOTE: I’ve signed up for National Blog Posting Month (NaBloPoMo) which means I’ll be posting each day in the month of November. Stay tuned for more attempts at craftiness of all varieties this month while I try to find blog fodder expand my crafty horizons.
